What is a Microphone?

One notable figure in the microphone’s history is Alexander Graham Bell, who significantly improved the carbon microphone in the late 1870s. His work on the microphone played a crucial role in developing the telephone.
So while Wheatstone is often credited with the initial invention of the microphone, the technology has evolved and been enhanced by multiple inventors over the years.

- Electret Condenser Microphone: These are a type of condenser microphone with a permanently charged diaphragm. They are widely used in various applications, including consumer electronics.
- Lavalier (or Lapel) Microphone: These are small microphones designed to be clipped to clothing, commonly used in presentations, interviews, and broadcasting.
- Shotgun Microphone: A highly directional microphone with a long, tubular design that captures sound from a specific direction while minimizing background noise.
